Rubber Plugs and Protective Caps
Rubber plugs and protective caps are small but indispensable elements in industry. They are used to close holes, protect pipe ends and shield threads and connections from dust and moisture. NUR KAUÇUK MMC produces plugs and caps in various diameters and shapes.
Rubber plugs
Plugs are inserted into a hole or pipe to close it. Thanks to the elasticity of rubber, the plug seats tightly against the hole wall and needs no extra adhesive.
Tapered plugs
The tapered shape, thin at one end and thick at the other, fits holes of different diameters. They are widely used for masking against paint or for temporary closing.
Cylindrical plugs
Designed for holes of constant diameter. They provide permanent sealing and do not shift under vibration.
Protective caps
Caps slip over pipe ends, fittings and threaded connections. They prevent damage and contamination during transport and storage.
- Dust caps — keep dust and dirt out of open ends.
- Thread protectors — prevent damage to threads.
- Flange caps — protect flange surfaces from scratches.
Material selection
The material of the plug and cap is chosen by the operating conditions:
- EPDM — resistant to weather, water and ozone.
- NBR — used in contact with oil and fuel.
- Silicone — suitable for applications requiring high temperature.
Detailed information on material properties is in our articles what is EPDM rubber and NBR oil-resistant rubber. Material hardness is determined on the Shore scale.
Quality
The correct size and hardness of plugs and caps ensure their function. A plug that is too soft may fall out, while one that is too hard will not seat. Our quality control ensures consistent size and material properties in every batch.
