Rubber Parts in Automotive and Machinery: O-rings, Oil Seals, Profiles — NUR KAUÇUK MMC

The automotive and machinery manufacturing industry is one of the largest consumers of rubber parts. Hundreds of rubber elements are used in a single car — from seals to hoses, from dampers to sealing oil seals. The quality of these parts directly affects the reliability and safety of the equipment.

Main rubber elements

Three types of rubber parts are especially widespread in machinery manufacturing:

O-ring

An O-ring is a ring with a circular cross-section, used for static and dynamic sealing in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Its simple shape, low cost and high reliability have made it the most universal sealing element in industry. For correct O-ring selection, the diameter, cross-section thickness, operating pressure and environment must be taken into account.

Oil seal (shaft seal)

An oil seal prevents oil from leaking and dirt from entering between a rotating shaft and the housing. It usually has a metal frame and a spring-loaded design. Oil seals play a critical role on engine, gearbox and pump shafts.

Profiles and seals

In door, trunk and window sealing, rubber profiles made by extrusion are used. These profiles provide both water and dust resistance and create sound insulation.

Material selection

In automotive parts, the material is chosen according to the working environment:

Comparison of materials

In bearings and some mechanical elements requiring high wear resistance, polyurethane is also considered. For comparison, you can refer to our article polyurethane and rubber.

Quality and precision

Machinery parts require tight tolerances; dimensional accuracy and material hardness (Shore) must be under strict control. NUR KAUÇUK MMC adheres to quality control standards in production, ensuring the longevity of parts. Custom-sized parts are made in our production process.
